BYU taught me the importance of making education real. It’s not good enough to just learn theory in the classroom.
For an assignment in the construction safety class, I customized a safety program for a commercial construction company in Texas that helped them maintain injury free job-sites through training, accountability, and OSHA compliance.
I met entrepreneurs who faced everyday business problems and learned from their solutions. Every week for my four years, they brought in professionals who had a wide range of experience from design, to project management, to business development. So we were able to see direct correlation between the things we learned in the classroom and the real world.
The most important aspect of my BYU education was the integrity of those I came to know and the lasting friendships that resulted from my time there.
